Dear Distribution lists,

I received the following from Oracle and I wanted to mention some outstanding highlights for folks using Oracle even if you are not attending Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco next week.

HP Booth

Next week in the HP Booth at Oracle Openworld will be the first public showing of Oracle RAC/CRS instances on an OpenVMS mixed cluster. The cluster consists of an Integrity RX4640 and an Alpha ES40 running Oracle 10gR2 on OpenVMS 8.3.

Oracle Rdb will be in the HP booth running on HP blade systems with THE NEW Oracle SQL Developer add-in for Rdb.

What is not mentioned in the attached message is that both Kevin Duffy and Norm Lastovica of Rdb fame in addition to working with Rdb are now part of the Oracle Server team. Kevin is the Oracle Server development manager as well as the Rdb development manager.

Look for the OpenVMS folks at demo station N in the HP booth who will be happy to help answer your questions. Of course if you just want to stop by and say hi to Melanie, John and Kevin, that works too!

Warm Regards,
Sue

The following is from Oracle

-----------------------------------

I'm writing to tell you that we will be in the HP booth at Oracle OpenWorld

<http://www.oracle.com/openworld/2007/index.html>; in San Francisco, CA next week following this week's Rdb
Technical Forum in Redwood Shores <http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/rdb/tech_forums/index.html>;.

We will be demonstrating Oracle Rdb running on HP Blade Systems <http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/cclass_support.html>; along with the new Oracle SQL Developer add-in for Rdb
<http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html>; that we have under development.

We'll also be showing Oracle 10g running in a mixed OpenVMS Alpha/Integrity cluster; a new capability that the Oracle OpenVMS Porting Team currently has under development/qualification test.

If you will be at OpenWorld next week, please make a point to stop by and see us. Beyond showing you our demos, we are also available for 1-1 meetings anytime during next week to discuss questions you may have for either Oracle Rdb or the Oracle Database on OpenVMS. To set up a meeting you can just stop by and see me in the booth or send me mail at kevin.duffy at oracle.com.

I hope to see you at either this week's Rdb Redwood Shores Technical Forum or at Oracle OpenWorld next week!

Best regards,
Kevin Duffy
Director of Development
Oracle Rdb and Oracle Database on OpenVMS
