Dear Folks,

Many of you have sent mail asking for details about John and what you
can do.  Here is everthing I know so far, maybe more detail than you
wanted. 

John was scheduled to leave the hospital today or tomorrow.  However
they found some internal bleeding for which the hospital administered a
blood transfusion and then he had heart faliure which was a shock
because last week they did an MRI and there were no problems with his
heart (which we all knew).  They did CPR for 45 minutes before the call
was made.  Because of this an autopsy will be preformed and then a
memorial service will be held.  Once I have the details on the Memorial
Service I will pass them on.  A few of us from ZKO are planning on going
down to Texas to be with John's family and Texas friends for the
service.  John was 46 or 47 and was a man with a big heart.

Dale Howard - John's manager and friend is working all the HR issues
with Lee McKeown and HP, which is a huge relief to John's family.

Ken Farmer from OpenVMS.org is creating a web site where folks can 
put
pictures and stories.  If you would like to submitt a story or a picture
or a comment please visit  http://wiz.openvms.org/ this will be very
good for his daughters.  Ken thank you very much.

Helen Harvey from HP in Dallas is coordinating meals and other 
immediate
necessary activities for the family.  Which is an unbelivibly kind and
gracious thing to do knowing how much Helen is hurting too.

We are doing research to set up a benevlont fund for his daughters in
lieu of flowers this may take a little time.

The Encompass organization is looking at doing a wonderful thing as
well, but we have to wait for details.

John's Mom is going to call me this evening with more details then I
will let you know.
