Exciting News for OpenVMS Customers and Partners:

Today, a new external website is being launched dedicated to 
OpenVMS database technology and products.  Now, there will be a VMS-
specific site where OpenVMS customers and partners (in particular, 
DBAs, system administrators, application programmers, and IT directors 
whose applications depend on VMS as their database server) can 
exchange information, share tips, and raise and resolve issues.  Over 
time, this site will grow into a virtual expertise center for OpenVMS 
database technology with electronic forums focused on each of the 
OpenVMS database products:

Oracle DB Server	InterSystems Caché		CA Ingres	
Oracle Rdb		Software AG Adabas	
	MySQL
				Mimer SQL

The website http://dba.openvms.org/ is a new branch off 
www.openvms.org, an external site already familiar to and much 
frequented by the OpenVMS technical community.  Managed by Ken 
Farmer (kfarmer at openvms.org), the new website will contain VMS 
database news, advertising, and most importantly, the database 
forums.

If you are directly involved with managing, deploying, or integrating 
database technology on OpenVMS, we encourage you to begin making 
use of http://dba.openvms.org/.  If you work with sales, consultants, 
partners, or customers, please get the word out and help make this 
website a success.

Community drives the OpenVMS.org family of websites, which also 
includes http://dcl.openvms.org/.  Ken needs your input and 
suggestions as the database website matures.  Don't hesitate to 
contact him with your suggestions.  As with all the sites, it will continue 
to evolve according to community demand.
