A. Announcing HP ACMS V5.0 for OpenVMS on HP Integrity servers and
AlphaServer systems
HP Application Control and Management System for OpenVMS (ACMS) is
a transaction processing (TP) monitor specifically designed for the HP
OpenVMS operating system. ACMS works with HP commercial
application software products to provide users with a complete and
customizable development and run-time environment for transaction
processing applications. ACMS is used today for order tracking,
accounting, billing, banking, and manufacturing control processes.
ACMS is for businesses requiring high performance, availability, security
and data integrity in both centralized and distributed transaction
processing environments. ACMS is now available on the Q1 CY2006
OpenVMS Software Product Library. The following products make up the
HP Application Control and Management System for OpenVMS (ACMS).
HP TP Desktop Connector V5.0
The TP Desktop Connector enables desktop-system users to access the
Application Control and Management System (ACMS) from the desktop
environment. As of March 20, 2006, the TP Desktop Connector is part
of ACMS and can no longer be ordered separately. Technical support
will be provided with a customer's ACMS software support contract.

TP Web Connector V5.0
The HP TP Web Connector is software that web enables business
applications running on ACMS transaction processing (TP) systems.
Technical support is provided with a customer's ACMS software support
contract. ACMS customers can download the TP Web Connector from:

Extend ACMS into new solutions
HP is committing substantial resources to ensure that your investment
in ACMS continues to work for you by providing interoperability and
integration with industry-standard technologies, including Web
Services, Java(tm) Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE), Java(tm)
Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) and Microsoft .NET. For example,
when an ACMS application is exposed as a Web service using the Web
Services Integration Toolkit (WSIT) other applications can reuse the
valuable business logic embedded in your ACMS application, enabling
clients on UNIX, Linux and Windows to access the ACMS application in a
seamless, Internet-friendly manner.

B.HP is pleased to announce that the HP OpenVMS 8.3 Software
Developer's Kit (SDK) is now available for purchase.
The OpenVMS 8.3 SDK kit contains a pre-production release of the
OpenVMS 8.3 Alpha operating system and the OpenVMS 8.3 for
Integrity Server systems operating system, accompanied by many
layered products that have been updated for this release. Note that
this preliminary version is provided for evaluation purposes only and is
not intended for use on production systems.
OpenVMS Version 8.3 will introduce support for the newest Integrity
servers, including new entry level, mid-range, and high-end systems
including Superdome. All of these new systems are based on the latest
generation of Industry standard Itanium processors from Intel.
OpenVMS Version 8.3 continues support for all of the Integrity servers
and options supported in OpenVMS Versions 8.2 and 8.2-1. This
release will include expanded cluster configuration support,
performance and scalability enhancements, updated security and
standards, and enhanced Adaptive Enterprise support. OpenVMS
Version 8.3 is targeted to release in Q3 2006.

The part number is BA394AA at a cost of U.S. $75.00. HP employees
can order the kit by accessing Manufacturing's eStore website:

NOTE: On eStore, the description field for this kit inaccurately reflects
version 8.2. However, the contents of the kit are correct, and

2. Time Sensitive: ENCOMPASS CANADA TECHNICAL SEMINARS
Encompass Canada - An HP User Group, in collaboration with HP
Canada and the HP Company is pleased to announce the first in a
series of technical seminars from the 'Technical Directions 2006' series
to be held in Montreal on Tuesday April 25th, 2006.
The seminar agenda includes topics and presentation content on
OpenVMS and related technologies, Tru64 and HP-UX and much more.
The presentations will be delivered by HP speakers including product
engineers. To review the complete day's agenda including session
