Dear VMS Community, Well my friends its been awhile since I have sent out an update. The OpenVMS Group is safely ensconced in the HP offices in Marlboro MA. Itâ019s a bit different from ZKO, but I have come to the conclusion after awhile that it is never the building, or the logo for that matter, it is always the people, the customers, the engineers, field folks and of course the product that make the real difference. Since this is not a blog you probably do not want to hear anything else so thatâ019s enough from my end. We do have loads of other information for you which I hope you will enjoy. Please note the time sensitive items, We have a very busy fall this year with all kinds of things to do. If you are a VMS person and you can not find something to do this fall you are just not looking ;') As a hint Connect will be announcing a great web cast for the world wide user group, in October that you need to make sure you sign up for it will be the first in a series. I hope you are enjoying your summer/winter, please send a note when you have a minute letting me know how things are going on your end. It does matter to me. URL's may wrap to the next line please check first. I have confirmed each one and they all work. This article goes into considerable detail about the elegance of OpenVMS disaster tolerant cluster environments. Like active/active systems, OpenVMS clusters recover in seconds because once a failure is detected, all that must be done to continue operation is to switch the subset of users who were connected to the failed node to surviving nodes at any of the sites. Furthermore, no data is lost following a failure (a Recovery Point Objective, or RPO, of zero is achieved) because the application file system copies are updated synchronously.URL: http://h71028.www7.hp.com/ERC/downloads/4AA2-0545ENW.pdf ******************************************************************************4.0 OpenVMS Partners 4.1 Process Software releases PMDF v6.4 PMDF v6.4 is released!
