Tárgy: OpenVMS Update ok for distribution

Dear Distribution Lists, Well we have a lot of information for you today which I know you will be pleased with, both from engineering and from our partners. You will notice that I have not included the Press mentions of OpenVMS, please tell me if that is important to you or not. Since the last update there were 28 mentions of VMS in the press, but that would take a large amount of time. I will do it, I just need to know if its important or not. Please note that there is a training on the 21st that you need to sign up for if you need it or it will be cancelled. Please do not post the job since it has personal contact information. As always I have nothing to do with hiring anyone. I hope you find this information useful. Thank you for your continued support of HP and OpenVMS. The subsidiary, Stromasys Inc., is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Cross Platform Virtualization solutions from Stromasys enable customers to run their mission-critical VAX and Alpha-based solutions unmodified on new industry standard servers. â01CThink of it as a hardware abstraction-layer that emulates the original OEM hardware whereby all the software on those platforms, including the VAX or Alpha operating system, run unmodified without any changes,â01D said Dr. Robert Boers, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Stromasys SA. â01CThis gives our clients a seamless binary-migration from aging VAX or Alpha systems to newer, faster and more energy efficient Dual-Core and Quad-Core industry standard servers while, preserving the clientâ019s software investments across hardware generations.â01D Zul Abbany, formerly of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), the ABB Group and SAS Institute, who has many years of Sales, Marketing and Channel Development experience is President of Stromasys Inc. and heads up the Americas operation. â01CThis investment in the North America market is in-line with our global expansion strategy to better serve our clients and Value-Added resellers (VARs), while taking more direct control of day-to-day operations in each of the major geographies,â01D said Abbany. â01CThere are many companies throughout the Americas still running older VAX and Alpha systems where the underlying hardware is now End-of-Life (EOF) and simply needs to be replaced,â01D says Bill Driest, Business Development Manager for the North American Operations. â01CWith our solution, these same companies can greatly reduce the service, maintenance and operational costs of these aging systems, while directly benefiting from the performance gains of newer and faster processors, memory, storage systems and networks that come automatically with new industry standard servers. Also, they can do this without any changes to the original software and without porting, migrating or rewriting any of their applications.â01D About Stromasys (formally known as Software Resources International) Stromasys SA is a privately held company with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland serving 1000's of users in more than 50 countries. Stromasys develops and markets Cross Platform Virtualization solutions that allow owners of PDP, VAX and Alpha computers to continue to run their mission-critical applications -- unchanged on new industry standard computer systems. Stromasys SA was established in 1998 as part of a management buyout of DECâ019s (Digital Equipment Corporation) European Migration and Porting centre following the HP/Compaq merger. The vast experience gained from years of large-scale migration and porting projects, System-level VMS engineering projects and development of Binary translators eventually led to the development of the CHARON-VAX and CHARON-AXP products.
