I know many of you still have HSG80's in use so the following is very
important to you.  Many thanks go to Andy for this.

The following comes from Andy Schneider the OpenVMS Storage 
Business
Manager.

OpenVMS will continue to support the HSG80 on OpenVMS V7.2-2, V7.3,
V7.3-1, V7.3-2, V8.2 and beyond. We have tested V7.3-2 with ACS
8.6-last, ACS 8.7-last, and will support the new ACS 8.8 when it ships
later in the year. From an OpenVMS perspective, we are not planning on
taking support of the HSG80 away for many, many years (if ever). From 
a
storage perspective, they've made an EOL determination, with ACS 8.8 
as
the final firmware upgrade and limited support beyond that. Storage will
be updating their "streams" (support) documents to reflect the testing
that OpenVMS does to insure that they have a similar statement of 
which
versions of the O/S work with the HSG80 to what we say. But it does 
not
change their overall EOL plans.
