 PAC Systems - Job Description


Manage and direct the development, maintenance and support of the 
PAC
product, including provision of 24/7 support to Medco's dispensing
pharmacies. The PAC product is a distributed multi-platform process
control system that provides support for all of Medco's dispensing
operations, including routing, scheduling, dispensing and shipping of
patient prescriptions. The PAC product is implemented using a
combination of 'C', C+ and VB languages and executes on both MS 
Windows
and HP OpenVMS platforms. PAC interfaces to both Oracle/RDB and 
Oracle
databases.

This position requires the ability to project manage and matrix within
a distributed team of 20+ developers (VB/C/C++) and support staff, and
the ability to provide architectural direction for the development and
maintenance of over 2 million functional lines of code on both Windows
and OpenVMS platforms.
The role also requires intimate knowledge robotic and conveyor
sub-systems that are in use within automated manufacturing facilities.

Prior experience expected:

*	5+ years experience programming in C and C++, with 
emphasis on
highly multi-threaded I/O intensive applications, using RPC based
inter-process communications. Familiar with both OpenVMS and 
Windows
server development environments
*	5+ years experience in implementing, installing and 
maintaining
large distributed manufacturing or process control systems
*	3+ years experience interfacing to RDB and Oracle databases,
familiar with embedded SQL and interactive SQL
