Dear VMS Champions, 
 
The second webinar on OpenVMS 8.4 features and benefits for our OpenVMS customers, partners and evangelists worldwide in on 4th August.  
Madhu Jagadish & P V Durgaprasad will present on OpenVMS v8.4 :- a. Unix Portability, b. Integrity RAD support and c. Dynamic Processor Resiliency. The abstract is:-
Integrity RAD Support:-OpenVMS V8.4 introduces support for Resource Affinity Domains (RADs) for Integrity servers with Non-Uniform Memory Architecture (NUMA). On these Integrity servers, processors, memory, and I/O are grouped together into cells. Access to memory local to a cell is faster when compared to access to memory outside a cell (remote cell).With this feature, the performance is enhanced as the overall memory latency and bandwidth is improved.
Dynamic Processor Resilience:- OpenVMS V8.4 introduces Dynamic Processor Resilience (DPR) for Integrity servers. DPR enables HP OpenVMS systems to monitor the operation of processors, predict failures before they occur, and dynamically deallocate troubled processors before they experience catastrophic errors resulting in system failures.
UNIX portability :-As part of the Unix portability drive, OpenVMS V8.4 is providing the below features:
1.) CRTL Semaphore APIs (Sys V & POSIX)
2.) CRTL Support for UTF-8 Encoding In UNIX style Filenames 
This enables developers to port their applications from UNIX / LINUX to OpenVMS with fewer changes.  The presentation will cover the details of the above features.
 
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session.
