Based on Customer requests received at the recent OpenVMS Technical
Update days held in Europe, Australia and Asia.  It is my pleasure to
send out the following note from Brooks Software regarding PROMIS on
OpenVMS Alpha and Itanium.  As you can see from the note and press
release Brooks is committed to OpenVMS on both platforms.  If you 
need a
.doc copy of the press release please let me know and I will be happy 
to
send you a copy.

I believe the best way to let you know of our commitment to offering
PROMIS on OpenVMS - on both Alpha and Itanium platforms, is by 
attaching
the release announcement when we released PROMIS 5.7.2 - Itanium in
August.  While this was a slightly different code stream from PROMIS
5.7.2, it will be merged with mainline code with the Release of PROMIS
5.8 in CY Q3 2006.  At that time, the same PROMIS code will work with
OpenVMS regardless of whether it is on Itanium or Alpha.

Hopefully this announcement will confirm for you our commitment to
Itanium.

BrooksSoftware is pleased to announce the general availability of the
PROMIS 5.7.2 - Itanium product.  PROMIS 5.7.2 - Itanium is a new 
release
of PROMIS, adapted to run on HP's latest price-performance Itanium
servers.

This new release now offers the users the option of implementing all 
the
features of PROMIS 5.7.2 on the Itanium platform.  PROMIS out-of-the-
box
MES functionality is now available on four platforms:
*	OpenVMS on Alpha
*	OpenVMS on Itanium
*	HP/UX on RISC
*	HP/UX on Itanium

PROMIS 5.7.2 - Itanium allows new customers the option of choosing 
the
cost-effective, high-performance Itanium platform, as well as offering
existing customers another upgrade path.  The popular options for 
PROMIS
5.7.2, including @PROMIS, a web browser user interface, and 
Composer,
the GUI-based Process creation/editing tool are available as well.

PROMIS offers an HTTP adapter and XML/SOAP Gateway on all four
platforms, providing open connectivity options.  If a customer prefers
to use 3rd party middleware, Tibco Rendevous is available on HP/UX
Itanium, and BEAssociates BMQ is available on the OpenVMS for Itanium
platform.
